Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

The last bottle of the vintage, revisiting... Good value

This might be my last bottle of the 2015 vintage, a nice accompaniment to a little late night baseball on the tube. (Thank goodness for video on demand). Purple-red, very good clarity, light to moderate pigment extraction. Blackberry, butter, barrel smoke and funk notes in nose on initial pour with a hint of mint. Blueberry and blackberry flavors, medium weight seed tannins in finish. Slightly soap mouthfeel in aftertaste with light skin astringency (medium weight skin tannins). Still drinking fine, good value, solid mainstream Oregon pinot noir.

Medium extracted, light purple-red, very good clarity. Hints of butter, vanilla, blueberry and funk in nose, but more raspberry than anything. Blueberry and raspberry flavors, lemon and barrel smoke finish, later some plum emerges; mild seed bitterness, moderate chewy skin tannin astringency. A tad tart, which a bit of chill or food would fix. Very good value from this innovative Costco-style winery, tasting room and buying coop

Bought at winery. Moderately extracted purple in color, excellent clarity. Tight initially, vanilla, blackberry, mint and mushroom notes in nose, later wood spice. Blackberry, blueberry, and spice flavors in mouth (a day later, cherry and plum flavors with length), fine grain seed tannins in finish. Slightly tart blueberry and graphite aftertaste. Decent Oregon Pinot, inexpensive, great value

Bought at winery. Medium high extracted purple. Barrel smoke and mixed berry notes with a hint of eucalyptus spice in nose. Syrupy berry cherry and mint notes in mouth, some dry chewy mouth coating astringency on finish. Could age a bit. Great value at or below $15 a bottle

Amazing Willamette Valley Pinot from an “under-known” vintner! Definitely try this if you can!! Wonderful fruit, easy drinking and hits the pallet like a good Pinot should!! Strawberry, maybe some mild smoke on the back palette.

Modern expression of Pinot noir. Some bright cherry and acidity, rather robust.

Medium bodied, ripe fruit but pretty dry with good tannins. Plum, blackberry, ripe cherry, a little funk, vanilla, and a touch of smoke. From Perry’s, Provincetown.
