80% Nerello Mascalese, 20% Nerello Cappuccio. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous volcanic yeast. Aged 48 months in steel, 12 months in oak and 12 in bottle. Old vines. 750m above sea level. Sandy, mineral porous soil. Great aroma, long finish, nice funk factor. Wonderful Etna wine! Still a bit tight, will improve over the next 5+ years.

Rich red fruit, complex scorched earth aromatics, fine minerality. Tannins are mostly resolved but still posses delicate grip for further evolution. Superlative length and finesse.

Mar 30th, 2015Deep red fruits on the nose. Toasted wood. Wet stone. A hint of sun dried tomatoes and tobacco. Raspberry, red currant, cherries on the palate. High acidity with well integrated tannins makes this a well balanced and very enjoyable wine.
