Opened at 1 PM, started pouring into quite inappropriate glassware at 7PM.
Big shouldered, round, lots of carob hinting at dry cocoa, dark fruits. Tannins well integrated, many of the ‘16’s seem to be. Mouth filling. With protein very very nice. Brisket & lamb. Brown, blue and ochre on the nose and palate. A good number of years left I think.
No hint of over toast or barrel.
Very nice, especially with a varied long meal. long finish.

N: tobacco, cigar box, cherries, very earthy.
P: Bright in your mouth, In the Grrassl Cru, the nose is sweeter but the tannins roar up to envelop your palate. A more interesting ride indeed..
We drank with homemade duxelle pasta w lemon, garlic, butter, lemon juice, parsley. Yum.
Overall, a very woody sweet Barolo, great food wine.
