This was funky/mushroomy on the nose at first. It then turned a bit truffled and started to match the palate with matchstick, salted popcorn kernel, and buttered toffee. Very viscous and oily. This is going to be very long lived. Thanks for opening @Mark Flesher

Excellent, intense purity with gobs of Meursault terroir that is salty and fresh with aromas and flavors of river stones, fresh flowers, mixed citrus and orchard fruits.

This half bottle showed more advanced than the one I had a year ago. Oxidation notes are starting to emerge. Still quite enjoyable though, medium to fullbodied palate, oozing hot buttered popcorn, nectarine and mandarin. Hints of baked apples, honeyed hazelnuts and brown spices on the nose.

May 5th, 2026Slightly shy on the nose, but big and bold on the palate. Vanilla, peaches, apricots, lots of peppery spice, buttered biscuits, lavishly oaked as well.

Grivault has hit the sweet spot with the great whites in 2017. This Meursault is very mineral and floral, with excellent acidity and length. A bit reduced and need more time in the cellar, or a good decanting 45 minutes before consumption. Recommended.

Full bodied / viscous - somewhat reticent on the nose, but a bold palate of orchard fruit and a whiff of matchstick.
