Medium garnet red with brick edges. Layered nose with earthy notes, tart red cherries, purple floral notes, a touch stinky and tobacco. Firm medium tannins (6.5/10), balanced acidity and medium bodied. Great palate with notes of dried cherries, earthy, and truffles. Red fruit beefed up with air. Dry and long finish. Drink till 2026.

Garnet red with bricking on the edges with a moderate intensity. Complex and layered nose starting off with some soft red cherries, damp leaves, earthy, tobacco, clay, savory and a little dirty. Fruit got a little more intense with air. Dark red cherries, earthy and mushrooms on the palate. Moderate tannins (6/10) with great acidity (6/10) and beautifully balanced. Medium plus body. Dry and covered in cherries in the long finish. Drank over a two hour period, only wish we had grabbed more than a bottle! Drink till 2026.

Wine #2 in the blind tasting. Thought it was a valpolicella. Yeah. I am super bad at this. Mellow at first then opened up. Really enjoyed this one.

Decanted. Needed about 15 min air. Beautiful nose with caramelized orange peel, asian spice, and some minty herbal notes. On the palate, very immediate, with juicy acidity, loads of black raspberry and a touch of tart cherry...slightly pasty tannin on the finish, which shows a slight caramelized note. Very good right now, though definitely could improve with bottle age. Maybe wait longer for final bottle.
