Les Valats Rasteau Red Rhone Blend

Plums, currants, earth, and lavender. Lean tannins and pleasant acidity. Well rounded red and the ‘15 can still be found out in town.

What most Southern Rhône wines aspire to be. Velvety wildberry compote speaking to the Grenache, green peppercorn the Syrah, and a bit of something earthy/sanguine the Mourvèdre all in harmony. No indication on the palate of the labeled 14.5%. Just plain good!

Promising aoc, perfect year and a great producer all end up in a disappointment. Simple cdr with a lacking structure and backbone.

Open for 2 hours... developed in the glass with aromas of plum, blackcherry, limestone gravel, and dried forest brush. Ripe palate, with dark fruits and plum carrying forward. Fresh fruit in quality, meets balanced acidity and tannin. Drink now - in a great place.

Fruit forward with some provencal herbs lurking in the background. This is in a good place right now so drink up!
