Lovely and accessible 2015 Barolo. More ripe red fruit, even some apple…. but the typical Nebbiolo notes remain prevalent. You could let this sit for 5 more years, but it’s really good now with some air.

Delicious, smooth La Morra imported by SommSelect. Most of the typical Barolo flavors, minus overly grippy tannins and charred oak/leather/tar. Floral and fruit depth is there, as is ample acidity and almond notes... this is a feminine Barolo, more akin to a Barbaresco (full disclosure: right up my alley). This could age, but why wait? It’s a 2013 and drinking well in the near term.

Battle of the Tortonian hillside. The La Morra (larger area) was nice and elegant but had too give up against the Cannubi (more specific area , on the border of the Helvetian hillside) which showed more balance and complexity
