Deep purple hue with some garnet. Extraction on the glass and medium-plus tearing. Nose offers black fruit, such as fresh blackberries, black cherry, and currant notes; also molasses, clove, spice, cured meat, and vegetal notes. Tartness and acidity on the palate, lending balance. Also strong tannins with anise and dusty leather notes on the palate. Vintage 2014. 15% ABV. #aalto #riberadelduero #riberadelduerowine #tintofino #spanishwine #oldworld #oakagedwine #meseta #winewednesday #winedownwednesdays

RdDs are by far my favorite appellation of red wine, and this one does not disappoint. Oak, espresso, and white pepper nose. Medium to full bodied, with medium to low acidity. Plum, tobacco, tart cherries on the palate. One of the best priced RdDs around in my opinion.

Always dependable Duero. Aromas of Moss, forest fruits, and oak. You can’t go wrong with this one!

With as much Spanish wine as I drink it is shocking I haven’t had this until now. It did not disappoint. I did feel it was touch sweet, but on day two this wine sang.
