Not being well-versed in the fairer varietals of grapes, I called on a few trusted wine consultants to give them a specific task: provide for me a clean, crisp #daydrinker with minimal hangover potential. The result from my consultants was a near-unanimous and resounding "Sancerre is what you're looking for." This bottle is the result of that consultation. The nose is invigorating, with distinguishable notes of lemon peel. The acidity is palpable, but it's nicely balanced with the minerals from the chalky soils prevalent in the region, ultimately resulting in a crisp, clean finish. Our favorite wines transport us, and this crisp day drinker is no exception. Low in alcohol, high in minerality and salinity, and with a slight spritz, it makes you feel like you're sitting seaside in Spain's Basque Country.
