Château Figeac

Petit-Figeac Red Blend 2013

This is smoothing out from a year ago. Strong berry, licorice, and allspice. The bitterness I remember is gone and the wine finishes very smoothly. Solid merlot from the right bank. — 4 years ago

Awesome stuff.

Sartarelli

Tralivio Classico Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi 2016

Nose is all anise. Almonds and butterscotch. A crisp salinity to it. This would rank as one of the better verdicchios ive has if it wasn’t for a little alcohol on the finish. 14%. Wow — 6 years ago

Château Figeac

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Delectable Wine
9.7

The 2010 Figeac has a youthful and exuberant bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry, cassis and violets that soar from the glass. There is no stopping the aromatics here. The palate is rich and sensual on the entry with precocious red fruit laced with blood orange and cedar. It firms up a little towards the structured finish that exerts fine grip and there is real persistence in evidence. This is a very classy 2010 Right Bank, this bottle showing even better than the example at BI Wines & Spirits a few days earlier. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. Balciana Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi 2016

Mineral overtones and finish, creamy in the mid-palate and all the better for it. Citrus, herbs, good acidity. Heat on the finish. — 6 years ago

Château Figeac

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 1970

Lovely bottle of Chateau Figeac 1970 this evening. Absolutely stunning - this is one of the best wines of the vintage, and one of the best ever Figeac! Full of those luscious qualities that make this a true left bank Saint-Emilion;-) — 6 years ago

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico 2017

Killer salinity, big and bright. Wish I had a dozen Bowen’s Island oysters to go with this right now! — 6 years ago
