Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark fruits, spice and toasty oak. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with spice, herbs, cacao, tobacco and toasty tones from 18 months of oak aging. Full ripe tannins you can bite into, long finish ending with fruit and an earthy toasty spice character. Nice! Will age!

2020 vintage, standard Chianti ruby red coloring, decent floral aromas on the nose, cherry and spice on the palette, complete shift in flavor after letting it breath for 30 minutes, it leaves a lingering but pleasant hint of smoke or burnt oak on the finish.

This wine tastes fantastic right now, but I agree with WS’s assessment that it could benefit from years in the bottle. Purchased on sale, $35, a steal. It will get better with age, easily approaching or surpassing 94.
WS: 94. This is broad and evokes plum, cherry, earth and iron aromas and flavors, picking up a salty taste while evolving on the palate. Supple in texture and nicely balanced, this is driven by lively acidity, with a light grip of tannins on the extensive finish. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best from 2026 through 2042. 22,000 cases made, 10,000 cases imported.
