Envinate
Migan Vinos Atlánticos Listan Negro

Usually love this wine. Either an off bottle or in a weird spot. Other reviews mentioned reduction that never blew off (which this also suffered from). Either needs quite a while in the bottle or a serious decant to be more enjoyable at this stage.

I popped and poured my first bottle, and it’s true what other reviewers said - it’s quite sour and volcanic at first, but really mellows out after a couple of hours. I was a little disappointed, but next time I’ll try a longer decant.
Second bottle: again, very volcanic and sulphuric on the nose, but dried red berries and delicate fruit complexity after some air. I haven’t found the right food pairing yet, but I’m upping the rating. This is a wine that doesn’t hit you over the head with immediate flavor. Takes time to appreciate, but really worth the wait.
3rd and final bottle on 1/23/25: Same volcanic and subtle red fruits, but mellower and less sour. 2+ years of extra age seemed to serve this quite well. I imagine it would be even better with 2 more.
