I had tried this over the weekend and was blown away but was unsure because we also had a Washington Bordeaux blend and a California Cab so I wanted to be sure on what I was thinking. I then went out to pick-up a couple more bottles the other day of this 2016 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello di Montalcino a 100% Sangiovese. Tonight I opened this bottle again and my feelings over the weekend were confirmed.

On the nose is a very aromatic cherry, raspberry, strawberry, licorice, roses, clove, clay brick and dry soil.

On the palate is cherry, red plum, raspberry, clove, licorice, a hint of mint, spice, herbs and dried roses.

This is a lovely full bodied wine with medium +acidity and medium + well structured fine tannins that leads into a long red fruit licorice finish. Totally enjoyed this wine over the weekend and opening another bottle tonight confirmed my initial feelings. The weekend is upon us and we need to still be careful in what we do. Please stay safe and healthy and have a great weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
