vintage 2016 | 80% nebbiolo, 15% vespolina, 5% croatina. Ten years old and fully alive and kicking. Brownish colour, tertiairy tones in smell. Very good balance, integrated tannines. I loved the bouquet: stinky in the positive way, spices, stewed fruit. A hint of manure. A Piëmonte nebbiolo that I like. Paired with a lasagne.

The 2016 Uvaggio is gorgeous. Bright, effusive and chiseled, the 2016 is so expressive today. Crushed rose petal, red berry fruit, blood orange and spice are all brightened by lively acids and beams of supporting tannin. I am blown away by how fresh the 2016 is at five years of age. A wine of unreal beauty and pure class, the Uvaggio can be enjoyed today or cellared for a decade, maybe more. It sure is impressive. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2022)

On the palate this is light yet with bite. A very proper tannic grip yet polished & finely grained. Juicy acidity, surprising freshness for 6y, great purity & a v. long finish. This is really nice!!
