Pistus Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese

This wine is right up my alley. Dark volcanic mineral back bone fleshed out with tart blackberry and cherry notes. There is a delicate floral quality here that really makes this wine quite pretty. All covered under a black sandy beach. Yum.

以前に飲んだビンテージと比べると、暑いビンテージだからか、酸が穏やかな印象。でも、暑い果実味はなく、穏やか。旨味もあるので大人な印象。

Pretty interesting. Dark, racy nose. Floral. Bright acid. Mouthwatering volcanic crancherry. Pretty light body but sneaky power and sturdy fine tannin on the back end. Fleshes out a bit with air. Slammin with pizza.

Give it some time in a glass and you’ll be happily rewarded. The real joy comes with food pairing. Rack of lamb with mushroom risotto was my choice. What a threesome!

Twenty-four hours in I’m almost tempted to push to 8.9. A much more pronounced showing of beautiful fruit that simply wasn’t there last night. That said, the fruit is just hanging there with little to no support to create a lasting impression. Still a very good wine to pair with rustic fish or a goat ragù. Not too many reds can do that.)

Little young and not fully developed. Tart cherry, strawberry with a little smoke and scorched earth.

Quarantine wine find. Good price. Light. 👍

Ruby red but not too dark, cherry & raspberry tones, earthy/minerally (maybe chalk). Clear tannins but just not to my liking. At Parcelle Wine School Blind Tasting on Feb 25th.

A bit sour and earthy-bitter, but great berry fruit sometimes too
