The 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva Berardo is a pretty, open-knit wine. Sweet dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and menthol are nicely delineated in the 2015, a Riserva that is unusually translucent for the vintage. This is an especially refreshing, mid-weight wine for the year, with a good deal of savory and earthy Sangiovese character laced throughout. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2019)

Very nice chianti Classico riserva. Decanted 3+ hours and it needs it at this point. But after that it’s really very nice. Wonderful red fruit and a lot of earth. Tannins are definitely there but with food it works. Excellent lifting acid on the finish. Nice wine and a decent value.

Really enjoyable. Way better than the price point. Presents more as a good Brunello, and finishes as traditional Chianti Classico. I really like this and will rebuy this week to break down the notes.

2015. Young but very enjoyable. Took 4 hours to open up to a mouthful of precise cherry fruit, tar and leather; tasted like a good Brunello by end of eve. James Suckling gave this a 96; well-made but not full-bodied or concentrated enough to reach that caliber. Still a great value at $32 (Wine Library); need to buy more.

Brilliant garnet color. Leather, cherry, spice. Smoothed tannins and a hint of earthiness, bright berry splash and blackberry on the finish. Clean and rich at the same time.
