Interesting musky taste complements stone fruit — 18 days ago
2014 vintage Super Tuscan blend of 65% Cab Sau, 16% Merlot, 15% Sangiovese, 2% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot. Rich and flavorful - dark chocolate, olives, sandalwood, spices, very subtle black fruit undertones. Big entrance, flavorful mid-palate, nice finish with medium acidity and restrained, soft tannins. — 11 days ago
Friday night and tonight's wine is the 2016 Castello di Neive Barbaresco. This wine is 100% Nebbiolo from Neive, Italy.
On the nose there is cherry, raspberry, strawberry, anise, rose and dry soil.
On the palate is cherry, raspberry, rose, spice, licorice, soft oak, clay pot and earth.
This wine is medium body with medium+ acidity and medium + to high mouth coating fine sandpaper tannins that leads into a long drying red fruit finish.
Let's all have a wonderful weekend, enjoy time with family and friends and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 6 days ago
Color of clear saturated ruby. Nose of strawberry, ripe grapes, spice, cherry jam, a bit vanilla, powerful alcohol, and a bit black tea. Taste of spicy tea, sweet note from ripe grapes, bittersweet zest, a bit peppery, quite light, some orange, and low tannins. Aftertaste of some more grapefruit note. Clean refined flavors yet a bit too light for me. — 4 days ago
Rose petal, tart cherry smooth tannin. Absolutely delicious & well-integrated - on day 2. Needed time to open up, but it's a wonderful balance of rustic & elegant, with lots of what was once red fruit. The acid is still haunting. I adore this wine. It may not be top of its class, but it excels at being what it is. — 12 days ago
