Dark Ruby with dark berry fruit aromas and smoky notes, from old vines up to 70 years, aged for 20 months in oak. On the palate flavors of ripe plum and black fruits with cacao, spice, oak and mineral notes. Soft fine tannins, vivid acidity ending with oak, smoke and mineral spice on the long finish. A superb wine.

Monthly WTF wine group meet up. Theme was “bring something good”. All wines (minus the bubbles and SB) were tasted blind.
Young, but really delicious right now. Flaunting rich oak tones up front (I guessed American Oak), dark baked berry pie, oozing blackberries and blueberries over fig and coca dusted dates. Hardly any black pepper. Kiss of spice toward the finish. I called this Ridge zin. Thanks, @Jack Thompson .

I can almost chew this wine its so big and bold! This is Campo de Borja 2016 Alto Moncayo. The color is deep Burgundy. The legs are slow and thick. The bouquet, fields of lavendar and lilac. The initial palate is amazing!!!!! Huge blackberry, boysenberry and raspberry. Then there is a small hint of cherry in the background somewhere. You can tell these vines are really old. The mid palate is phenomenal. Spice and vanilla- yum! Lots of oak and earth. The thickness reminds me of a juicy filet mignon. The finish is dry and lingering with the feel of butter left behind. Time to serve with dinner:

Drinks well, that is bold and juicy on the palate. Great flavors of dark cherry, strawberry, leather and vanilla. Not the most smoothest finish, but really good.

100% grenache från gamla stockar i Aragonien. Aromatiskt inbjudande doft av bär och balsamiska toner. Smakmässigt medelfyllig, förvånandsvärt följdsam och lättdrucket på sin hisnande 16% naturliga alkoholhalt. I smaken finns frisk bärblanding, viol, örter, clementin, fikon, viengummi och minerals övertoner. Långt torrt avslut med mycket fräschör. Älskar grenache.

May 2nd, 2019On the nose there’s crushed gravel, ripe cherry, and some baking spice. The palate is multi faceted, a medley of dark fruit mixed with an olive savory quality. All this is tied together by a firm acid structure and medium tannin. Great concentration
