Nice balance of acid and fruit. Dark red bordering black indicative of 2012 napa fruit. Low acid, rounded tannins, great fruit (dried berries) Tabacco notes and no green notes.

I was hoping that the 2012 hoopla would shine thru with this wine. It's a well made wine with everything in place - fruit forward, oak, leather and hints of earth. But it was thin & because of that, it did not reveal much layering or complexity. Even after an hour or two, not much improved. It left me without that "yearning for more" feeling especially at it's price point.

Paul Hobbs, once hired by Robert Mondavi for his advanced understanding of oak aging, soon he was making the inaugural Opus One vintage. Paul then went on to start Paul Hobbs Winery in 1991. Crossbarn is Paul Hobbs least expensive entry but a great value. Dark Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and sweet herb notes. On the palate blackberry, currants and sweet plum flavors with hints of espresso and cacao. Smooth tannins, bright acidity, well balanced with nice mouthfeel give way to a lingering finish. Tastes great now but still has some years to run.

Pleasant wine. Floral, red fruit but dark in color. Robert Parker actually thinks this wine could last 20 years. Would shock me, but who am I to argue

Classic Napa Cab nose. Dark and brooding with moderate tannin. I like the style.

The age of this win diffently poked through. Leather everywhere. Got some of the oak aging with cigar box. Plum fruits didn't get much of the red fruits but could get some on the smell.Always one of my favorite wines. Peob best vintage I have had of this wine
