Gorgeous expression of SB, classic site expression with its vibrant array of ripe citrus fruits and densely packed mineral backbone. Just beautiful. Key lime, grapefruit, a slight tropical edge, lemon curd, crushed chalk, aloe, sweet herbs. Went way to quick need to track down another bottle!

It needed some time in the decanter (one hour at least) before it fully showed it's energetic minerality, striking precision and cool toned expression. In combination with a little richness in texture this makes it an absolutely outstanding wine.

Served with an English Pea "gnudi" (see the Vespertine summer menu for more info). On the nose: lovely grass and gooseberry, sweet pea (brought out by the pairing), grapefruit. On the palate, fantastic acidity, gooseberry, tarragon, sweet apple, yuzu, kumquat and a lovely tangy finish.

Aug 22nd, 2020Lovely at cellar temp. Pop and pour. Sweet tarragon, a touch of va, melon, melon rind, a touch of vanilla, gooseberry, and great richness. Lovely acidity and density, more sour apple, gooseberry, grapefruit pith and nut oil. Very nice.
