This family makes just two wines, a blanc and a rouge and a blanc. They are known for holding back wines, this is current release. Funky earthy leather dried back berries meat could smell this for hours. kept it open for days, fun evolution. Very tight at opening. eat at day 3 but i didn’t decant. medium body (14.5 doesn’t show) firm tannins, medium + acid.

Dark and brooding. Big style of rioja. Jammy fruit. Plenty of grip but any secondary notes are buried by the ripe full bodied fruit profile. Slight sourness on the end. For this money, I’d take Rioja Alta 904, CVNE, of Tondonia every day.

Medium body bright red berry note. Maybe cherry and oak. Lasts and lasts on the palate. Silky smooth with very mild tannins and a taste that is just the right balance of "wow that was good lets have another sip" and "Wait a minute the flavour is still there lets slow down and really enjoy this".
