This fruit was so nice and it kept evolving through the night. Super.

Monthly WTF wine night with a theme of “something to impress”. As always, wines were tasted blind.

Wow! Talk about a tough wine to call blind. I called this Sonoma Cabernet. It was quite dark in the glass and had perfumed and spicy notes of potpourri, currant and plum. Very smooth on the palate with an herbal grip toward the finish alongside peppercorn. Maybe even some licorice? Very unique and very good. Thanks,
@Jeff Meyer .

soft licorice, leather, dark fruits & flowers on the nose ~ starts juicy then goes silky with fine yet sturdy tannins of herb, spice & graphite

Still a bit restricted on the nose which contains graphite and pencil shaving, but than the mouthfeel... Sour candy sweetness with mouthfilling fruit. Still a baby but already so good! Very long finish which continued for minutes! Simply said: spectacular!

Our 5 years wedding anniversary calls for a 2013. This time: the Maestro Raro. 100% Cab Sauv. Fantastic wine! Still very tannic, will need a couple of years to be at her best but already a beauty!

Tuscan cab. One of the best cabs from Italy.
Decanted for 30 min. Licorice and floral aromas. Leather, tobacco, black cherry, licorice, and blackberry.
Very good!

Opened a Tuscan Cab to go with a pasta course. Cherry, leather, tobacco & spice. Can’t go wrong with Felsina.

The 2013 seems to have a bit less body than I remember the 2012 possessing. It reminds me of a Heitz Cellar wine -- in all the best ways. This is a fantastic Cabernet. Give it some time in the glass.
