Extremely fine mousse, possibly the finest I’ve ever seen. Aromas of lemon, lime and honey. Amazingly fresh and vibrant for a 21 year old wine. On the palate medium plus intensity. Notes of over ripe mouldy apple. Jancis gave this 20/20 which is Off the Charts for her. She said that they started to measure glycerol levels from 2001, and 2002 has been the highest glycerol Dom P ‘by a mile’. An interesting comment. Were they only comparing to 2001? The following day the Lime and Honey dominated still. It would be interesting to taste this next to the 2002 P2. The latter probably fresher still and more mineral.

Beautiful. Resolved fruit. Pretty toasted notes, soft citrus. Long and complex and delicious.

Finishing off our last night in Hawaii with two whites at Napua. With air the 02 Dom showed great intensity with notes of citrus, wet stones, some bread basket and some spice. Really nice mouthfeel. Still a baby.

Straw gold with ample refined bubbles and lots of energy. Grew its power with air in the glass. In a great spot, and destined to last a long time. Notes of citrus, pear, stone and a little pineapple. Nice acidity. A step above the 2004 Krug next to it.

Exemplary performance.

Lovely balance. Intense But focused. A slightly sour note in the end of the palate?

Sweet. Pretty. Bright lifted fruit and a spine of stone. Long and very good. After an hour this was getting better. Great stuff
