Pours a deep deep purple with soaring aromas of dark fruit, eucalyptus, and some game. Brooding dark berry/plum, cracked pepper, and that gaminess bringing up the rear. Good start as a lead off batter for our Thanksgiving lineup.

Crowd pleaser. A go to bottle when the wine list in sub par.

Really solid bottle coming from the South America. My last notes are constant with this bottle.

Time and air does this bottle good. Revising to a 9.5

We had the 2012 Vintage on 6/11/2020. Tastes of blackberry, currents, violet, plum. Fine, dusty tannins. A big, fruit forward wine. A certain taste of the Andes.

Serious blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from high in the Andes blended by a team from Cheval Blanc. Conceived as a Grand Cru level wine this would be a perfect accompaniment to steak or a hearty beef dish. Plenty of tannins on the attack and a very long finish as the wine resolves from the up front Malbec into the smoother Cabernet Sauvignon influence.

Bigger and bolder than the last two vintages I have tasted. This one needs time in the glass to open. Fruit comes on strong initially but not overly oaky - super soft tannins. Once open it’s delightful - Malbec should always taste like this.

Fantastic Bordeaux-style blend from Mendoza. Blackberry, licorice and graphite on the nose. Espresso, grilled meat and dried oregano added on the palate. A little lingering cloves on the finish. A lot going on but harmonious.
