I don't know about 92 points, but I paid $22 for a 2011 Chianti classico riserva, and it's good. So it's a winner.

Medium minus tannins (disappointing) and medium acidity (was hoping for a bit more there, too). Without looking at the composition, I'm guessing an inordinate amount of Merlot is taking too much of the edge off of the Sangiovese. A decent wine, but doesn't seem true to the appellation. This is a Classico Riserva, after all. For that, I'm marking it down a touch.

Jun 23rd, 2017Dark purple color with soft tannins. Not what I expected. Aromas of Cherry and licorice. Flavors of dark cherries, plums, licorice and leather with hints of vanilla and cedar. More fruit forward then a typical Chianti Classico. Is this a blend of some kind? Still, a decent wine with good QPR. Ready to drink now.
