A surprising gamay; not on the fruit side, mostly expressing soils and character with earthy aromas and a hint of griotte. Low ABV, 11,5% and not a hint of green or bitterness. Very good and singular; a little more length and it would be excellent. Thanks for the advice @Carla Hine 👍🥂

Not actually the Pure bottling, this one has minimal sulfur and is the better for it. Apparently from vines in the flats below Vosne-Romanée, this is Gamay with a firm Burgundian stamp - whole cluster, more structure and less enthusiastic fruit then you might find just down the road in Beaujolais. Stunning, complex conversation stopper. How often can you say that about Gamay? Hand carried back from the Domaine, I wish I could have this on the regular.

Funky with nice complexity for its minimal age...after unwinding notes of blackberry and plum with crushed rock and minerals

NOT "Pure" bottling which is zero sulphur. This was bottled with minimal sulphur. To date best wine from this estate that I've had. Gorgeous texture, spicy, reductive at first then time in decanter blew off funk. Got so clean I couldn't believe it. Shockingly complete and transcendent Gamay. These are a roll of the dice however.

Not bad but at this price point there is better. Solid tannins backed by good fruit. May need a bit more time.

Finally able to have this Roch. Worth the wait. Pure earthy gamay! Tad VA in the beginning but opened up after two hours.
