Full, deep ruby. Deep aromas of dark fruits, spices, smoky oak and flowers, plus a whiff of game. Utterly plush and mouthfilling but not at all heavy, showing serious thickness and high-altitude density to its sweet blue and black fruit, spice and chocolate flavors. And yet this wine's floral element gives it an almost light touch, if that's possible. Some subtle soil tones reminded me of the outstanding Syrah from this site on Pritchard Hill. Finishes with substantial but noble tannins and terrific length. (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, July 2019)

09’ This is singing @Mike R Another wine from Mike- If this wasn’t the WOTN, it was damn close. Black fruits, black licorice, blackberry jam, floral notes, smokiness. This is a drop dead gorgeous wine. A very polished wine!! Especially from this vintage. There’s no need to hold onto this any longer. Drink them up in the next 10+ years.

Oct 22nd, 2017Had the pleasure of drinking this very fine wine at Colgin Cellars with husband & wife owners Joe Wender and Ann Colgin. A lovely aromatic wine featuring floral and tea notes, dark fruit, oak and dry minerality. Vibrant mouthfeel with silky tannins and lively acidity with dark fruit. Long, long finish. A nirvana experience. Bravo!!
