Albe Barolo Nebbiolo

2011 is great right out of the bottle. It is going to be a good one.

Value-oriented Barolo from a solid producer. This is very good, but little of note stands out in comparison to the other Vajra offerings. 2011 vintage could be a factor.

An hour after it was opened this wine was great, tobacco, dark red fruit, anise, roses, love the label and the producer, $32.99, better Barolo at the price?

Licorice, leather, sweet basil. Appropriate for a much needed night off.

If some wine is feminine, this is a warrior princess.

Pretty nose of rose petals and a minimum amount of tar, turned earth and candied orange zest, surprisingly. The palate is very young barolo, which isn't a knock, but also not a compliment.

The tannins are present but soft for the vintage. Enjoy whenever.

Dark fruit, leather, and spice.

Good if not great, but for the price, it's tough to do much better and get true Barolo class and typicity.

Excellent! Especially for the $$. Floral, spice, dried berry, good tannins and fun lasting finish.
