At touch of funk but otherwise nice nose of dark cherry and spice. Drinks well with dark cherry, spice, mint, and a mid weight but rather lengthy finish. Even given the vintage no green notes to speak of. Quite nice!

I've had so many big, massive, meat on their bone style Chanteaneufs that it's great to taste the distinctive old style. Far more elegant. Noticeable acidity. Very seamless in structure and weight. All earth on the palate. Sulfur, burning graphite like you lit a pencil on fire, stone, pepper and some diminishing tannins politely asking for your attention. With food a bit more accessible with slight berry. At the conclusion of a very lengthy finish, a slight woody character sets in. Remarkable.

Still quite youthful flavors of ripe fresh fruit, earth and spice. Pleasant texture. Continue to cellar if you own (2016++)

P&P'd this and it paired perfectly with tonites homemade bolognese. A bit disjointed and funky at first but glass time rewarded with some black/red fruit, leather and spice, wrapped around a nice acid streak.

Au Bon Climat / Qupe provided all 9L of this goodness (in one huge bottle).

Quite early to drink, I know, but couldn't resist.. River rocks, raspberry, incense and licorice on the nose. Really pretty. Med-tannin, fruit compote, raspberry licorice, and great minerality on the palate.

Mostly herbs, oak, and fading fruit in the nose. The palate is not too different but offers up a bit more of remaining red fruit framed by medium acidity and a light coating of tannins on the front and back palate, leaving a bit of a void mid-palate. Still very drinkable and enjoyable nonetheless. One more split left to drink sooner than later.
