2009. Gotta admit, I was worried. I really thought this bottle was gonna lean hot and jammy. Could not have been more wrong. Gamey, meaty, and full of black fruit on the nose, this wine races across the palate with cool confidence and unapologetic acid. Despite the 14.7% abv there is not a hot note to be found. Just a lot of powerful concentration and restraint, almost a bit of elegance. So glad I was wrong about this wine. Great accompaniment to tonight's grilled ribeye.

Juicy, a bit tat on entry. Gamey nose. Red cherry, almost like a jolly rancher. Missing the blood and meat that I love in Syrah. A bit disjointed and not my fave in the lineup.
