Plum sauce, baked cherry, tobacco, sweet herbs and an airy hint of mint, come together to from an extroverted display on the 2007 Chaupin CdP. It's silky and dark on the palate, pliant, yet a hint of heat quickly comes forward, sizzling on the senses showing ripe blue fruits with a purple floral tinge. The finish is long showing dark fruit and sweet herbs, yet still feeling unbalanced. Unfortunately, I think this wine has seen it's best days.

I'm not sure I love how these super modern chateauneufa evolve in bottle. Very port like on the nose. On the palate very nice. Soft and velvety. I prefer more old school cdp with age whereas a prefer the more modern style while they are young. I'd be interested to try this again in 5-10 years

Decanted for six hours. 100% Grenache and 100% pleasure. Another fabulous 2007 CdP.

Really great! Lovely kirsch with a little polish from the oak. Not ‘hot’.

Beautiful but stronger than the Colombis 2007, less overall balance and riper aromatics. Another style and showing the specifics of this vintage.

Intense raspberry and sugary fruit on the nose. A palate with gobs of intense fruit. All a bit sugary, intense and candied. Increasingly the alcohol and body are going in different directions. Lacks the interest of better balanced vintages.

Very punchy. Intense blackberry, cassis, and dark Grenache fruit. Syrupy pure and right on the edge. A bit too hot.
