Rare Wine Co. Historic Series Special Reserve Madeira Savannah Verdelho

Translucent cold brew color, rather pungent citrus and roasted pecan nose. Yum already. Then medium sweet, deeply caramel more pecan on the palate. This wine feels like family and that’s not just my Austin-grandparent-pecan-picking nostalgia. It’s so friendly but capable of throwing you for a loop—how high is that alcohol? (19.5 abv)) but WHAT sort of kernel/nut elements are they and are they STILL judging where I went to school? These pecan-savvy questions fade as elegant smoky elements wave through to tell you it doesn’t matter so long as you graduated. It keeps you on your toes and keeps you looking towards more time together.

Beautiful old gold / amber hue. Incredible nutty nose with a little Madeira funk. Slightly sweet with layers of flavors. Nuts. Dried fruits. Mouthwatering finish. Honey.

Such a delicious beverage.

Magic in the glass. So aromatic and complex. Lemon, orange, caramel, vanilla, toasted pecans intermingle and go on for ages.

Mandarin oranges, limes, leather, hibiscus, honey. A finish not scheduled to end until sometime next year. This stuff goes straight to my head like no other. Favorite non-vintage Madeira.

Surprising acid balanced well with rich nutty flavors and high alcohol..A very drinkable "sweet" wine

Nutty, spicy, slightly caramely. Dry, but rich.
