A lot to like here, but in the end it is disjointed and grumpy.

Somehow linear. I struggle with this. Even with days on my Argon line and lots of air not really that good. Chalky and dark cherry touch bitter but there really are not any secondary flavors. ‘May be in a bad place right now.’ Wait 3 more years?

I bought this because the '10 Bruno Clair Dominode was one of my favorite wines in the last year, but this didn't do it for me. Mostly 80+ year old vines here. Cherry, cranberry, hints of earth but there is a searing alcohol/acid side that is almost chemical in nature. Not pleasing at the moment. Maybe it just needs some cellaring?

Great balance. Mod acidity, dark fruit, minerality, herbal notes and a touch of earth, but consumed it too quickly to taste its evolution.

The first of the Pavelots i tasted which has some substance - may be because of the age of the vines in La Dominode? This has tart 🍒, forest 🌳 floor and needs more time in the bottle. Pavelot is inconsistent and I DO NOT advise to buy and cellar his wines blind without tasting them first - this is not a Mark Haisma or Jadot.

Great forest floor with some pine and great cherry fruit. Beautiful.
