I didn't think the Musigny could be topped. Delicious.

My pick from the whole flight drinking elegantly with a third dimension in the front, middle and finish. Killer wine.

Huh hmmm, 1996 Screaming Eagle, would be a value at $......................

What can I say? I have great friends. Drinking a legendary wine, but maybe not a legendary vintage. Did it live up to the hype? Let's just say, it was a very good Cab.

This is one empty bottle that's not going into the recycling bin.

1996 Screaming Eagle. Decanted for about an hour bc the cork fell into the bottle. No hints of being over the hill. No vanilla or oak. Tons of plum, raspberry. Maybe a bit thin at the end palate. Note- do not decant next time, just open and let it breathe.

1996 Screaming Eagle. Dinner at Tap w S&L DiM and P&S Co. Superstar. We all remarked how unbelievably balanced this wine was, despite how big it remained at 20 years old. Finish lasted forever and was a truly memorable finish to the evening.

1996 Screaming Eagle. Third set of reds we tried at house dinner w A&C BG and MR&GR. This wine we tried alongside the '96 Harlan out of magnum. The larger format on Harlan probably amplified its youthful flavor. We hands down loved the Screaming Eagle- supple, nuanced, like velvet in the mouth. Epic!
