La Cueille Bugey-Cerdon Sparkling Gamay Poulsard
Cerdon, Bugey, Savoie, France

Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion into the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again.
Prior notes still apply.

Fun ultra-nerdy semi sweet sparkling wine from just west of Savoie. Ancestral method bubbles; meaning they bottle before fermentation is complete. Fermentation finishes in bottle, naturally stopping after a couple of months. No dosage, but natural sweetness from the unfinished fermentation. I agree with a couple of others who said this drinks like a sparkling Kool-Aid.. raspberry/strawberry punch with a streak of minerality. Some mustiness on the nose. Crack this bad boy open whilst grilling burgers poolside for optimal enjoyment.

All the rich ripe fruit of gamay with the crispness of a well put together bubbly. It’s almost too easy to drink and too delicious to stop. Strawberry and watermelon with some nice floral components. Fantastic crowd pleaser and pro pleaser alike. Great price too.

Taste like a kids birthday party! Sparkles, pink and candy! But really... Cherry blossom and juicy wild strawberries. Yum.

It's sunny and just over 30°F today, so fire in the chimnea time! First flames of 2019.
One of our favorite new (2009) AOC's in France, this is 80% Gamay & 20% Poulsard, but the epitome of 100% sparkling strawberry juice! So GD delicious!
One thing to note, last bottle is always the best, we're out of stock now, but don't hold these too long. We've seen bottle variation, likely best to track lot codes on the bottles and make sure your buying a newer version than the last, since we're talking about an NV product.

Delicious apertif from the Savoie. Perfect with the rich regional cuisine, and coincidentally with a lot of food in the good ol' USA. 🙂
Sweetness surprised me a bit... I was expecting something more dry than our normal Prosecco, but there is more residual sugar. Not cloyingly sweet, plenty of flavor, and only 8% ABV. No vintage listed.
