2008. En Demi Muid bottling. In a great place, showing wonderful acidity to balance the notes of bright red and black fruit, garrigue, and peppery spice.

Past its prime, but still enjoyable from first sip to the last drop.

good, well-structured and with a lot of subtlety and nuance. Doing CNdP proud.

Deep ruby red with a pale ruby rim. Dark leathery nose with hints of forrest floor and eucalyptus and black cherry. Bright cherry, currant, cinnamon, coconut oil and white pepper tangle in the mouth. Gamey, earthy flavors riddled with pepper round out the supple finish.

What do you call garrigues in Californian? Brushy? This is the first wine that feels likely it may be getting ready to be drinkable, the nose is complete, showing complexity and promise as well. Dried fruits, herby, slightly gamey.

2008 vintage. Hazy dark red color. Herbal and smoky nose. Stewed plums, cinnamon, and a little red vine notes. Great length and energy. Delicious.

Side-by-side "en foundre" and "en demi-muid" versions show the ability for less French oak on the nose makes for a more mature and, I think, better showing wine in this Rhône blend. Really good wine either way.
