One of our "house wines"-drinking wonderfully. Heavy mineral nose, creamy texture mouthfeel yet tight and spicy on the palate. I also get a core of fig, pear and delicate citrus note. Finishes strong and long with hints of roasted marshmallows. Great spot.

Much better than the last bottle. Showing more complexity on all fronts. I get minerals, cream mixed with bright acidity and toasted bread notes on the front side. On the finish you still get a mild oak influence with pear and apricot.

Don Van Staaveren last vintage I believe before Bob Cabral took the wheel. I'm interested in how the former winemaker for William and Selyem will put his spin on Three Sticks. Chalk, straw and cream fill the nose. First thing that catches me is the acidity comes in high then smooths out. Slightly booze, with the taste of alcohol. Smoke and slight spice and charred marshmallow. Not much fruit. Finish comes and goes. Paired with Thai food, could have muddled the flavors.

This bottle was opened for two hours before serving. Rich and layered yet clean and fresh. Pear, fig and melon on the palate. Slight minerality on the finish that last.

A very special taste of the 2005 Three Sticks Durell Chardonnay. Wow! Incredible nerve and brightness with golden, high toned fruit suppleness. Wow. Nice work, Don.
