Carneros Pinot Meunier

First time trying a 100% pinot meunier and it has completely baffled and intrigued my group. Super underripe strawberries on the nose along with ridiculously tart cherries and pomegranate and greenness without being vegetal. There's a bright and juicy acidity throughout the palate that reminds me of gamay from Beaujolais but it is lacking in body. I like it, but I'm not sure I'll search it out after this.

The first American sparking wine venture by a French Champagne house (Moet & Chandon), Domaine Chandon has been a leader in sparkling wine production since 1973. In the 90's they started making varietal wines to complement the sparkling wines. Ruby with aromas of dark fruit and spice. On the palate plum and cherry flavors with cinnamon spice and lemon zest. Well balanced wth medium finish ending with spicy tones.

Soft red fruit and subtle brown spice. An alternative for Cali Pinot Noir

Ripe, smokey, juicy and with great lift and length

Fun and fresh in the same fashion that makes Beaujolais a treat.

Earthy with raspberry tones. Medium bodies and medium plus acidity with black and blue berry finish ..

Cherry on the nose. Earth, minerality, and acidity on the palate. Very old world style finish.

Really nice tho I thought it was a Cab Franc - I got a lot of herb, and leaf notes - pyrazines too. Really interesting wine from Carneros, Caifornia
