There is a whole lot to like here. Expensive for cotes de bourg but tertre roteboeuf pedigree. At or around it’s peak now with some nice soil and secondary aspects. Still shows the dark red fruits as well. This could be nothing other than Bordeaux. Really nice stuff all around

Brought to tasting group and presented double-blind. The 2012 Roc de Cambes pours a deep garnet with moderate staining of the tears. There is a little bit of sediment sticking to the side of the glass. Medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is high intensity. It smells like a leather shop with stewed mixed fruits: figs, dates, a little cow pie, tootsie roll, violets, fresh potting soil, herbs, and baking spice. On the palate, the wine is dry and medium+ across the board. Desiccated fruit with raspberries folding into the aforementioned fruit. Some pyrazines and mushrooms with organic earth. Long finish. A gorgeous wine! My second of three and better than my first bottle from four years ago. Drinking well now and I expect it to do so over the next ten years.

Very classic left bank, Cabernet-dominated Claret. Cedar, graphite and cassis, tannins combined with acidity make for a wine that requires a couple more years of aging.
