Leather, sandalwood, cedar. Very much about tertiary elements at this point. Good acidity lends freshness. Sustains well through the finish with a hunt of vanilla after a minute or so. In short, the 1994 Arrowood Reserve Speciale is holding up very nicely.

This was substantially better than the bottle I had a few years ago. Tannins have integrated well and this seems to be hitting the sweet spot. No rush to drink but pop one if you have it.

Oh wow. Reserve Cab that pulls from Justi Creek, Smothers-Remick Ridge and Monte Rosso Vineyards. Nose is so luscious and inviting, blackberry cobbler, black fruits and spice. Tannins are large but round. Such an easy drinking cab.

Correct but a little bit of flab. Stewed prune, not enough acid.

Drinking Great and a 1995 vintage reserve cab. Delicious rich with just a touch of soft tannin, gobs of fruit. A beauty. One of the Wines of the night . Monday night Chophouse Wine Group. 95+

One of the amazing bottles I got to sample for Richard Arrowood's 50 year retrospective. Held up beautifully.

Opened this thinking, "I'll just have an inexpensive something red." Poured it & thought "This tastes more expensive than I thought."
Sho 'Nuff.
Charcoal roasted red bell pepper balanced by dark plummy fruit & supportive tannin, showing some velvety finesse.

Break out the bag of tartaric and dump it in. In pursuit of acid.
