Margaux and Rack of Lamb. I’m in. The 05 vintage…magic!
Lamb w/ just enough fat, spice meet perfect ripe, bright, floral fruits of; blackberries, black plum, dark cherries, strawberries, red & black licorice/cola, perfect mid spice, sweet, lead pencil shavings, charcoal, cedar, not old, not fresh, tobacco, touch of nutmeg, cinnamon, vanillin, pea gravel, dry twig, dry limestone powder, steeped tea, dark, rich soil with dry leaves, herbaceous notes-bay leaf, moist clay, an array of fresh, withering, floral bouquet, amazing, rainfall acidity, perfect, tension, balance, structure and polished finish for days. Absolutely stunning!

Blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc & 1% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits, smoke and tobacco spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with notes of espresso, cacao and smoky spice. Fine tannins, long finish, good balance ending with fruit, leather and oak. Just starting to open, will continue to age.
Blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc & 1% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits, smoke and tobacco spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with notes of espresso, cacao and smoky spice. Fine tannins, long finish, good balance ending with fruit, leather and oak. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good. Blackcurrant, cedar, vanilla, violet, big berry fruit, some herbal tea, black tea, ginger spice, and licorice. Vivacious and punchy. There is still prominent oak, but the balance is spot on. This is a long distance runner for sure, a very ripe, broad shouldered, delicious Margaux.

Nov 16th, 2022I can find nothing wrong with this exquisite bottle. This is a wine you can stick your nose in the glass and get lost in depths, amid layers of swirling fruit and spice. It is both mellow and sultry, showing leather, pepper, peony and violet, and then bright and lively on the palate, showing cherry and blackberry fruits that are a bit ethereal. Unadulterated Margaux joy.

Exceptional. Red fruits on the nose blood and iron on the finish. Great weight and mouthfeel. More complex current, cassis and anise notes came out with air.
