Bourgogne Pinot Noir

I went to France tonight. 12.3 Alcohol. Very nice acidity and bright present fruit n spice.

Fresh fruit with grip and youth. Subtle sous bois. Unfortunate whiffs of cork taint.

Richie-Rich wine: fine 'n' dandy.

Not particularly complex, but clean and clear Pinot expression. And pretty killer juice for the money.

Oak, strawberry, raspberry. Comfortable acidity and minerals. Vanilla as well. Dry. Later on, fresh plum. DOMAINE BITOUZET PRIEUR Bourgogne Pinot Noir 19 @3900, Fecilit JH, 240203-240214

2017. I was given a few minutes to find something red from the cellar to go with spaghetti and mushroom “puttanesca” (quotes are for not having anchovies) my daughter was finishing up in the kitchen. The spicy cherry and nice acidity went perfect with the earthy and salty pasta.

2017. Very light body and color, but delicious spicy cherry berry flavors. Paired really well with a coconut madras curry tuna filet that had mustard seed, fenugreek, and roasted chilies.

Worried at might be over the hill. Not so! Still a nice drinking Red Burg though wouldn’t wait any longer for sure. Higher rating than previous. Good with the pork dishes from Amah for recent dinners. The red cherry fruits and balanced you’d expect. Punches above weight class for sure.
