Very dark. Richer in weight and texture, with a youthful firmness and slightly bitter edge, than previous vintages.

Smells of violets crushed under a gravel rockslide..

Hello Fruit! Right upside my head, bright raspberry, bright blueberry, bright, bright and more bright - undertones of pineapple, star fruit. This is a wild wine, lively and lip smacking. Totally fun. Would even try it a bit chilled.

Spritzy, lean and fairly rustic. If this was my first Mencia, I wouldn’t look for more.

Paired with braised beef short ribs. This needs a little bit of air, so a decant or a firm shake in the bottle, benefits the aromatics immensely. Mineral, brambly fruit, savory; delicious.
Disclaimer: I import this.

With sushi and sashimi. Paired w ebi and real Wasabi, this plays an amazing menthol/resin. Blueberry aftertaste.

Bonito color violáceo, en nariz fruta roja y notas vegetales. En boca ligero, paso poco equilibrado y final ácido y corto.

My first Mencia and sadly not what I was hoping for.

Still tastes super young and fruity but with an, in my opinion, detrimental carbonic quality. Not at all what I had expected.
