Not as heavy handed as a classic Amarone, yet offers some of that classic dried grape flavor, sweet cacao, touches of grit, some velvety mushroom, deep, dark, thoughtful. Think of this as a strongly bittersweet Italian0 wine, not an Amarone, and it will be a pleasant wine you will enjoy..

Recently tried ‘14. Dark red with aromas of black and red fruits with smoky spice. On the palate veey sweet cherry, blackberry with dried currant flavors, adding cacao and smoky spices. Fine tannins a bit acidic on a medium finish ending with earthy tones. Pricey, thought ‘14 was a bit better, but still pricey.

Dark garnet hue. Aromas of chocolate, cranberry, dried fruit, earthy, eucalyptus, licorice, prunes, raspberry, and tar. Medium-plus body, with medium-plus tannins and medium-plus acidity. Smooth and rounded on the palate with a touch of oak on the finish.

Sweet, sweet cherries, plums and leaves. Spicy towards the end. Lighter compared to usual Amarones I've had but a fairly decent drop.

Drinking the 2013 in 2020. Excellent wine. Deep rich color. Thick long lasting legs. Earthy nose rich with peet. Big flavor, rich with ripe fruit and an earthy finish.. wonderful dinner wine to pair with pasta or steak.

3rd wine from the Wine dinner. Opens to a smokey nose with robust plum and licorice. Big wine with a nice finish. More age would do this justice.

Very tannic on the nose, but balanced with juicy dark red fruits on the palate. Quite robust but still smooth. Delicious!!!

Wonderful wine with 15% alcohol. Raisins and berries. The finish is berries and liquorice. Great wine for about $40.

Lovely full bodied 2013
