Jan 23rd, 2014Hmm. Pop and pour, notes from 45 min open. On the nose: lime, soft yeast, wet stone, underripe peach; still very primary. On the palate, this came off to me as slightly flabby: the acid up front is soft, so you get a burst of sweetened lime and a suggestion of florals mixed with grapefruit, but lacking some zip. Good midpalate density, but it kind of feels muddled on the finish, which could be more well-delineated. Not bad, but maybe this is what I should have had with the spicy vegetable stir-fry we had for dinner...oh well.
