Alfio Moriconi Selection Chianti Rùfina Sangiovese Blend

Drank 12/21/19. Very nice with a home made deep dish pizza.

This vintage was much more enjoyable than the '15 which I previously had.

Nose of black cherry, earth, and a touch of barnyard. This vintage is much better balanced, with flavors of black and red cherry, backed by leather and medium tannins. Red cherry on the dry, medium finish. On sale at $15, a nice buy.

@Delectable this is the Chiantia Rufina Vendemmia.

Scents of tar, tobacco, black cherry, and a touch of barnyard. Earth, and black cherry flavors with medium tannins giving some structure. Medium finish. Overall, not quite enough fruit on this one. Expected more given the vintage. You could do much better for around $20.

Pale firm but in the end just dried out and a bit too tannic for the fruit.

So it's not a Sangiovese blend but it's all I could find that was closest.

Amazing. Really loved it. Very well balanced and full bodied Chianti. Velvety finish. Good spice.

Very dry. Good with our pasta and meat balls. Seems too acidic for my taste.
