This is liquid stone. Sure, there is some pear-inflected green apple fruit, and a hint of pineapple, but screaming amounts of crushed rock, especially on the palate. Nice, but not overpowering, acidity. Lengthy finish. This is a graduate seminar in Loire geology in a glass.

Great over 3 nights. Rich in green fruits, fines herbs, chalk and subtle lees. Round and creamy almost, balanced though. Greengage plum, honeydew, tarragon, chervil, wet chalk. Joyous!

Take two. Nose has intense and very high toned minerality, along with piercing gooseberry fruit. A hint of greengage. Intense in the mouth. Very intense. Strikingly mineral, but with a round texture. It’s got fruit and great minerality in equal measure, along with zinging acids. Great Sauvignon. Will age effortlessly for several more years.

Past peak and lacked the usual zip and acidity. Still good and showed some stone fruit, and peach but finish fell short. Held too long.

Mild lemon, sweet ocean water, crushed shells. Smooth.

Hard to stop drinking. What I love about it is that it tastes like gun flint before it tastes like SB stank. So versatile. This reminds me that I need to have even more respect for well-made SB.

Really fun wine. Some usual tropical notes, Def still has kicking acid and salinity, but loved the Burnt marmalade and like lemon bar thing going on. Thanks @Kit H !

Oldster talking here.... when I started tasting wines from Chavignol back in the 80s young wines did not taste like this, but this is gooooood! We used to have to wait for this opulence! Now here it is in a 2015. Good and not good . But really this is showing well and I think will be great for another 10 years. Question: can it hold like 89 and 90 Chavignol could?

Beaucoup d'éclat aromatique mais sur un même registre... enfin pour le moment! Superbe tension et énergie en bouche. Ça claque le palet en finale.
