2019 vintage. It's definitely one of the best wines of Fronsac.

Vintage 2016 | Love Fronsac. Beautiful smell in this 90% Merlot 10% Cabernet Franc with milk chocolate and vanilla. Cherries. Supple taste. Very refined right bank wine. Paired with roast beef steak and spinach/grilled aubergine.

Vintage 2016 | a rather sophisticated Fronsac, with the characteristics of a nobleman. Dark colour. Nice summerfruit in smell. Sultry in taste, especcialy after 24 hours aeration. Beautiful concentration. Good acidity, lively. Classic. Biowine. 90% Merlot, 10% Cab Franc. | Paired with beef tenderloin first day, a vegan salad and cheeses second day.

2015 vintage. A blend of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). Certified organic since 2015 and now biodynamically farmed. The estate was bought in 2015 by the Labrune family, but it had a very good reputation before. This wine certainly does not disappoint. Smells like a mix of red and black fruit (raspberry, cherry, blackberry) with attractive floral hints and a discrete vanilla touch. In the mouth it has impeccable balance, the ripe concentrated fruit balanced by fresh acidity and probably the most civilised tannins I have ever tasted in Fronsac (they tend to be a bit rustic over there). This has class, great length and purity. Well worth the 22,50 price tag. The 14,5% alcohol is perfectly integrated. What's not to like?

Here’s a plump, juicy bdx red with the volume cranked way up. Despite its size and intensity, it manages to stay feeling fresh with a sense of proportion and balance. Dark fruited with an herbal twang. As other tasters noted, CF is noticeable (15% in ‘16). 30% new oak doesn’t feel cumbersome. Love the tannin work here, sweet and grainy, enough to give needed structure but not impede drink-now-ability. Overall I quite enjoyed this, although not my preferred style. After 2 glasses, I‘m guessing the 14.5% is lower than reality. Nevertheless, great party/cocktail wine, killer value - Napa drinkers should back the truck up.

First glass in Bordeaux at an outdoor cafe. Was interested in trying this Fronsac and did not disappoint. The Cab Franc really comes through even though it is only 10%. Dense, black currant and cherry really pop in this textured offering.
