Earth driven, blueberry, medium plus acid, tannins soft, mushroom and earth. Nice touch of french oak. Slight VA at first, eventually disappeared. Structure fit, less tannin than i expected. Cotes Castillon just east of St Émilion. Very nice merlot blend by the family who owns Chateau Pavie.

I found that this wines’s deep musky barnyard scents/taste overwhelmed its refined plum, golden raisin, and fig pallet. Maybe 16 years in the bottle was too long? Probably for me, but maybe not for you. Worth a spin.

Called Napa Cab. This is a monster Merlot Blend. Definitely over delivers.

This was a delight... the '05 is drinking so we'll right now it felt like much more of a "special" bottle than its price point. I need more of this! Had lots of sediment... def. decant for an hour or more.

The nose is quite intoxicating, & could pass as napa, the palate is dusty with a spicy jam on top

Blackberries, black cherries, black raspberries, black plum skin, touch of blueberries, faint raspberries on mid palate, saddlewood, cedar, crumbly dark taut/edgy minerals, dry dark earth, tannins still very prominent even after 8 years in the bottle, vanilla, spice, new wood shavings, dry pebbles, graphite, lead pencil and a round dry fruit finish. This 06 is still a bit rough. Needs another 5+ years.

This pushes the envelope. Gerard Perse style. Wow it is massive and endowed. I thought it would be perfect to try today but this is way too young. It is pavie at $40.... Awesome stuff and perfect with steak florentine. Camphor, pen ink and kirsch on the nose with loads of dark blackberry and mocha. Creme de menthe and creme de cassis emerge after a half hour
