@Tom Casagrande, still youthful and fresh, I think the super old vines and the 12.5% ABV were a great combo!!

La Compagnon Corbières Red Rhone Blend 2015
Great nose: raw dry-aged strip steak, crushed rocks, peppercorns, oozy dark berry sap. Dense and minerally, this is soft-textured but with loads of tannic scaffolding. Long, clingy, minerally finish. Because it’s from Corbieres, the acids are a bit lower than, say, a Northern Rhône Syrah, but other than that it would be a dead ringer for a Syrah from that region. Great value. — 9 years ago
